Sample Itinerary
Our adventure begins with 2 nights in Upolu; day 1 will be an early morning pick up to head to our beachfront location, with a quick shop stop on the way depending on surf boat schedule. On day 3 we will catch the ferry to Savai’i where we spend 5 nights at our family humble paradise accommodation.
Each day will be slightly different depending on tide times and other ocean/weather conditions. We work around mother nature and prioritise surfing, so all other restorative and fun activities are scheduled according to surf times. This may require all to be adaptable and patient, but there is always the option for anyone wanting more chill time or sleep-ins to opt out of surf, flow, or other activity at any time. It’s YOUR holiday!
Side note: We are not allowed to surf in most places on Sunday.
Here is what a day with Pele o Samoa might look like:
Early start at 6am for Breathwork or Boat sunrise surf trip!
Breakfast
Surf or cultural activity such as Tosua ocean trench visit
Lunch - at retreat or beach restaurant
Afternoon is for relaxing or waterfall time!
Evening Functional flow, yoga or meditation
Bonfire dinner & sunset hangs

Pele o Samoa requires all guests to have valid travel insurance for all incidents involving injury and other medical costs; please make sure this policy includes medical evacuation if needed. We highly recommend purchasing a policy with the “Cancel for Any Reason” clause, which will protect your trip payment from ANY unpredicted circumstances. If you plan to purchase “Cancel for Any Reason” insurance, be advised that this typically must be purchased within 2-3 weeks of your initial deposit date. Read the rules and fine print as you may need to purchase travel insurance at the same time or very soon after making your initial deposit with us.

Fly into Faleolo airport. You will most likely need to fly in the day before and overnight in Apia, as we will have an early start to make the most of our first day. We will sort you from there! It’s a good idea to join our Facebook Group incase other wahine are on the same flight as you!
-
You will receive a visa on arrival in the airport.
PLEASE CHECK the travel advisories & check with your doctor for vaccinations you might require.
The tap water IS NOT safe to drink, so either bring treatment options or purchase bottled water for the duration of the trip.
There are ATMs at the airport and select locations; buying local currency at Faleolo airport arrival is a great option as they usually provide a good rate (just before you get to immigration control or one after). A local sim with good tourist plan options can be purchased on arrival, outside to the right when you have exited customs. Duty free alcohol is currently not able to be purchased on arrival, you are welcome to bring some from your departure airport. Local beer is available in most small shops that we will stop at for water and snacks!
-
We will 100% add you to our private Facebook Group to share questions, any concerns and address packing issues, what quiver to take and some pre-trip training tips! We will also share any discount codes or flight offers we have managed to secure before the trip.

Surfer girls are the most laid back and fun to travel with. We are totally all about gaining that much needed alone time to be able to reflect. We are also a supportive management team and therefore aim to provide a warm, secure and welcoming environment for everyone involved. Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert we will endeavour to provide delightful experiences for all.
-
Absolutely! You can book a FREE 30 min call with one of our Retreat managers (Steph). Book in the schedular on the left or click here. She will be able to answer all your questions and provide any tips and tricks for trip prep.
-
Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate beginners on this trip. We are only able to accommodate INTERMEDIATE level surfers. This means you are comfortable catching and popping up on green waves, going left and right, can make it out back through a channel & have knowledge of basic surf etiquette. There will be reefs! Unsure about your level? Just get in touch! (We know generally women tend to underestimate their skill so we are happy to assess it for you! Please don’t be nervous to reach out) We are also having surf coaching as part of the retreat so it is perfect for those looking to progress and hone their skills!
-
SURFBOARD(S) - You will need to check it in! Also plenty of sun protection- surf gear, hat and zinc/ sunblock. (PLEASE BRING REEF SAFE SUNBLOCK!) Insect protection is also essential. (Mosquito nets are provided but please bring repellent and longer sleeved clothes to reduce risk). We will be sharing packing tips and quiver recommendations in our Facebook Group too.
