The Mount Surf Festival is a free-to-attend event celebrating all things surf, taking place on Saturday 27 February 2021 on Mount Drury in Mount Maunganui. The Festival aims to celebrate and showcase New Zealand’s surf culture, while also emphasising the importance of finding fun outdoors and the responsibility we all share for looking after the coast and ocean. The event will be a space where people can meet and develop new connections, as well as enter and celebrate the world of surfing without feeling intimidated or out of place.
Drawing together a group of talented shapers to exhibit their boards, a marketplace of New Zealand brands, live music, and a host of delicious food and drink vendors, the first edition of the event is set to be a good one.
The Mount Surf Festival will be followed by an after party at Astrolabe, a popular surf-centric bar in Mount Maunganui, with Daily J playing from early evening until late. And it doesn’t stop there. On Sunday 28th February, The Mount’s annual Log Jam will be taking place, a fun, laid-back logging competition, with registrations opening in January.
